Reservation Policies

Our Location

Captain Tom McLaughlin and Another Keeper Charters operate out of Cape Haze Marina in Englewood/Cape Haze, Florida.  During Tarpon Season, some pick-ups will take place at the Guide Docks on Boca Grande.  We are also able to accommodate pick-ups at your location.  Please inquire with the Captain when you make your reservation.  Additional fee may apply.

Reservation Deposit/Cancellations

A credit card deposit amount of $200 per trip is required at the time of your reservation.  If you prefer pay your deposit via check or money order, the deposit amount is 50% of the total balance due. But please understand, we are unable to hold days unless a deposit has been received.  The deposit amount will be deducted from the total balance due.

Your deposit is fully refundable up to 30 days prior to your reserved date.  Deposits will not be refunded for cancellations less than 30 days.  Cancellations less than 14 days and no-shows will be charged for the full price of their scheduled trip to the credit card used for deposit.  If extenuating circumstances arise, please contact us right away and we will try our best to reschedule your trip for a time that will be both convenient and productive.

Payment on the Day of Your Charter

Payment is accepted by cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover and is due in full upon the completion of your fishing charter.  Because of potential weather cancellations, customers fishing more than one day are still required to pay for that day’s charter.

Gratuity for your Deckhand

Deckhand Jordan works exceptionally hard to ensure that you have the best time on the water possible. His work starts well before you arrive at the boat and continues long after you head home from a great day fishing. In the fishing business, deckhands work only for tips. For this reason, gratuity for your deckhand is required. Generally speaking 15-20% is considered an appropriate tip for your deckhand. If you feel you received exceptional or less-than-exceptional service from Jordan, let your gratuity reflect that. Please remember the most important thing about tipping: It is the job of your deckhand to not only assist in fishing, but also to make your day as comfortable as possible. Please base your gratuity on the SERVICE you receive and NOT on how many fish you catch. In the extremely unlikely event that your trip does not meet your expectations, take that up with Mother Nature and/or your Captain! You may provide your gratuity by cash, check, or it can be added to your balance on the credit card used to pay for your trip. Minimum gratuity of 18% will be added automatically if other arrangements are not made.

Angler/Customer Responsibilities

Please,

1. Respect your Captain, Crew and the Boat. If, at any time, a customer’s behavior is disrespectful, inappropriate, or dangerous to themselves or others, your Captain has the right to immediately terminate the charter and return to the closest commercial dock. No discounts will be given and full payment for the charter will be due immediately.

2. Be on time for pickup/departure.

3. Wear non-marking shoes.

4. Only bring rub-on sunscreen!  Spray sunscreens will damage tackle and make the deck slippery and unsafe.

5. Bring a camera. Although the Captain does often take photos on charters, it is each angler’s responsibility to supply their own camera for photography. Check our Facebook page for recent photos from trips.

5. Enjoy yourself!

TACKLE

Another Keeper Charters does everything possible to provide our customers with the highest quality rods, reels and tackle possible. In return, we ask you please respect these tools and treat them with the care and respect they deserve. If for some reason, there is damage or loss due to gross negligence by the angler, you will be responsible for the full replacement cost.

ALCOHOL

Beer and wine are welcome in moderation. No hard alcohol will be permitted on the boat. Please do not arrive for your charter intoxicated–your charter will be cancelled and full payment will be due immediately. The safety of yourself and others is our top priority, so please be smart and limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while on your charter–remember sun and exercise increases the effects of alcohol in your system.

WEATHER

Your enjoyment, fishing success, and safety depend on your Captain’s accurate analysis of the weather. Your Captain will have the final say in trip cancellation due to weather. We do not cancel trips due to rain, however we will try to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. There are certain weather events that will significantly decrease the quality of fishing. Should the Captain make the determination that these events have, or are likely to take place, he will contact you about the situation and give you options regarding possible rescheduling or changes in tactics and target species.

MECHANICALS

Occasionally there are unforeseen mechanical situations which prevent Captain Tom from operating a charter. Although this is very rare, it does happen. If we are forced to cancel your charter because of this, we will make every attempt to reschedule your charter at your next most convenient time, or, find another guide available for your originally scheduled time/date. Of course, if we are not able to get you out on the water, your deposit will be refunded in full within 7 days.
